Listen, it's your wedding day. Not the time for a bad hair day or a brides wedding updo disaster. If you don't want to risk a hair horror story here are a few updos and don'ts.

Unless your hair is very fine wash it the night before the wedding. Blow dry it using some smoothing gel or aerosol spray.

In fact it's a little known secret that if you want your updo to hold up well, it's better to have slightly dirty hair. This is why a lot the styling products are applied. To make your hair more pliable and less slippery.

For that reason avoid traumatizing your tresses. If you're looking to perm or treat your hair in some way get that done and out of the way at least two weeks before the wedding.

If you're looking into a color change, start experimenting about 5 months ahead of time. All the more important if you need hair to grow out.

Remember, wearing sophisticated wedding hair updos should be like wearing a crown. Don't end up with hair that ruins your wedding pictures.
