It wasn't just a sudden impulse when Brooke Loomis decided to crop the long hair she'd shown off for three years and start seeking cool, very short haircuts for ladies.

Said Brooke, "I had been thinking of getting my hair cut for a really long time. I felt I was getting stuck in a rut with my look and that it was time to move on fashion wise. And shorthairstyles had always struck me as something to keep an eye on. You know for future consideration. Even some of the shortest cuts too which admittedly surprised some of my friends. Given my love for long hair and all."

Short hair styles have been making news here lately too. What with a number of female celebrities getting short bobs done. With others showing up on camera with styles shorter than that.

"So I thought of either a bob or a ladies' cropped haircut. But the crop would take longer to grow out so I went for the bob," explained Brooke.

Inspite of having carefully picked out her haircut earlier, Brooke still experienced some moments of panic in the hairdresser's chair.

"Letting go of all that long hair wasn't at all easy," she revealed. "But I just thought hard of all the benefits I would be getting from very short haircuts for ladies. Like less time in the shower each morning, less hair drying time and no more hair spray!"

Any tips Brooke wants to share on her experience with women's very short haircuts?

"Oh yeah, definitely," she said. "Always make sure both you and your hairdresser know just how much of hair is getting cut. You really don't want any nasty surprises when you look in the mirror."

"Remember," Brooke went on, "it's most important that you consider as many styles as possible when looking for very short cuts. Because with short hair you're going to get stuck with the results for like forever. No, I'm just exaggerating, silly! But it will take a few months for your hair to grow back though. So it’s wise to pick a haircut or style only after carefully considering it from all angles."
