Hair Experts Claim Trendy Short Bob Haircuts Are In Big Demand

Short bob haircuts for women are just so popular right now.

“You know what, they’re all the rage," claimed hairstylist Kim Durette. Kim has been styling hair for just a couple of years. But still she's considered an whiz when it comes to styling women's short bob haircuts.

"Yeah, I've been doing quite a few women's shot bob haircuts including the inverted bob," agreed Kim. "Most of the clients in our salon ask for me specifically when it comes to getting short bob haircuts. I guess since my hair's done that way too, they think I’ll know a bit more than most about the bob style."

Pretty much all of Kim's customers, like Vanessa Jurusik, are satisfied with their new hairdos too.

Jurusik admitted, "I never thought short bob haircuts were my style really. I felt that as hairstyles go they were too radical of a cut. But then I watched Kim cutting another girl's hair and I knew I wanted mine done that way too."

Kim's tips for the inverted bob:

"I basically do a chin-length bob," she explained. "I cut the back short and tapered with the front longer and designed to swing forwards around the face. Lowlights give some contrast and create a textured look as well."

“If you want to soften the look as for a zigzag cut. But I find uneven side part also does the trick.”

"You might try sweeping some hair across your forehead," added Kim. "That cuts off any harsh lines. In that case the sides of your hair just need to be step cut for more definition."

Short bob haircuts do need some care while styling though.

"You want to blot dry your hair with a towel. Then apply a good leave-in conditioner or mousse. Finally blow dry and add styling gel. Simply run your fingers through your hair to create finger waves. Or use a bit of hair spray to hold it all in place," suggested Kim.
