The top fashion favorite among the various ladies haircuts for hairdresser Farrah Ward has to be the layered haircut.

"Whether you’re going cuts with for long or short layers, there's no getting away from it- a layered haircut style flatters any face," she said. "You see, layers soften features and serve as a great frame for your face. Know what I mean? This is one reason why I like them to much. Even with some of the shorter shorthairstyles, layering can be a very valuable haircutting trick. "

"When your hair is cut layered at the back, make sure they don't put in too many layers," cautioned Ward. "As this can detract from the overall look of the cut. Styles like the layered ladies hair cuts can be made to look feathery or shaggy. It doesn't matter if you don't have that perfect oval shaped face, a layered cut will look good on you anyway."

Maybe this is why short haircuts for ladies like the bob are taking the fashion world by storm right now.

Ward agreed that this style looks really stunning, but then added, "There are other good short women’s haircuts that I really like as well. Cropped cuts and short haircuts with bangs look stunning as well. But such styles don't always suit everyone."

A layered cut is pretty simple to achieve.

"Don't make the layers too short however," warned Farrah. "Ideally the layers should be around earlobe length for long layers. While for short hair, layers that fall just below the cheekbone are best."

Most any layered ladies haircut does require some regular maintenance however. Salon visits every four to six weeks are the norm for keeping those layers looking clean and fresh.

"Most women want to have their layers trimmed between a quarter inch to a half inch each time," advised Farrah. "Hair grows quickly so every eight weeks you might need an appointment with your stylist."

Whichever one of the ladies haircuts interests you, make sure it suits your face as well before deciding to cut your hair.

Otherwise you might have to bear a bad haircut for a few weeks.
