Picking Hairstyles for the Prom

Deciding on hairstyles for the prom can sometimes be one of the most agonizing of choices for a teen. Certainly far from simple. Especially if you are the type who finds it hard to make up her mind fast to begin with.

Makes sorting through the prom dresses seem like a day at the beach, right.

Its all very well when they tell you to focus on your hair style and look you want a week or more in advance. If you can narrow things down so you can pick between more the formal prom hair updos and maybe something like the down curly hairstyles for prom then the process is simplified. What problem, right?

But what if you have absolutely no idea of exactly what kind of look you want to achieve? And to make matters worse each of the hairdos looks like it would be fun to wear.

That’s Marcie Conreaux's dilemma in a nutshell.

Said Marcie, "Prom night was approaching fast and I had really no clue as to what sort of hairstyles for the prom I should be looking at. I searched the internet and found an article telling me to go with the hairstyle that best suited my face type. So then I checked up on my face type and found that I had a round face, broader at the cheekbones."

Marcie ran into trouble when she tried picking out the right updo hairstyles for the prom.

"I have long hair so I was looking at long hairstyles for prom. My mom told me to go for something simple to pull off otherwise I'd find be stressing out over maintaining the look all night. So I decided to look at easy prom hairstyles for long hair.”

“But what sort of look did I want?”

Marcie added, “One girl told me to go for a bold striking look. Another of my friends advised me to choose something very down to earth as I was that sort of person. I just knew that I wanted to look beautiful that night. Was that too much to ask?"

Marcie finally picked out a hairstyle that would leave soft bangs falling about her face to minimize the width of her cheekbones.

"Since I had my hair washed and set the day before prom night, it was simple for the stylist at the beauty salon to create my hairstyle," she said. "I'm glad I finally found the best look. Choosing hairstyles for the prom is fun. But for people like me can also be so frustrating."
