Winning Hair Styles - Fine Hair Category
Fine hair. Flat or limp hair. Flyaway-hair. If any of that sounds all too familiar then it is time to take charge of the situation by exploring the hair styles, fine hair category.

Because truth is a fine mane can be tamed and styled to look as gorgeous as any other hair type provided it gets the care and nourishment is needs.
Of course that's not to say there aren't challenges and problems to be dealt with. There are. But let's take a look at some ways you can get control of your problems with fine hair.
First fine hair doesn't necessarily mean hair that is thin or sparse. It can be, but just as likely it's dense or thick too. The word fine, when used with hair, refers to the thinness of the individual strands. Sometimes this gives you hair that looks sleek and silky. Other times your hair will display a definite lack of volume.

• Yes, adding a look of fullness to you hair can be quite a challenge - despite what haircut you go for.
• Yes flat or limp is another possibility regardless of length.
• Yes, some have fine hair that is frizzy or loaded with flyaways.
• Yes, fine tresses also tend to be on the dry side. But there are styling products to counter that. Problem is if these "solutions" are used in the wrong way or too enthusiastically (as in to excess) you'll only weigh your locks down and make them appear lifeless.
• Then too, too many styling products can give you hair an oily or greasy look.
And it doesn't matter whether your hair is short, medium or long. Baby fine, wavy, very curly or stick straight.
So let us deal with some of the more common issues one by one.
With Hair Styles Fine Hair Volume Is the Name of the Game
To create the illusion of fullness you can do one of these 3 things - or all three of them:
• Curl it: Fine hair when curled either with rollers or a curling iron can leave you with curls or waves that produces thicker looking locks.
• Blow it out: It's usually a good idea to blow dry fine hair with your head down. Then when your hair is almost dry flip it back and finish off by using the cool setting on the dryer. The logic behind this is that heat makes the hair cuticles open up and the coolness will close them adding some height in the process. The result is hair that looks extra full.
• Apply appropriate products: To make fine hair look thicker you can use products containing wheat protein. What happens is the protein coats the strands making them appear thicker with loads of body. Aveda hair products is a line designed specifically for this hair type.
To prevent flat and lifeless hair:
• Minimize the number of STYLING products. Used excessively these only tend weigh hair down. Sometimes conditioner doesn't help either. If you must use conditioner lightly apply at the end of your hair.
• Also do not use gels or heavy creams for styling fine hair. Light mousse and hair sprays are best. Avoid silicon sprays as they tend to make fine hair greasy and flat.
To make your hair less frizzy try Grandma's home remedy.
• Combine the yolk of an egg with a cup of olive oil and apply it on your wet hair. Then wrap your head with plastic wrap and relax for 30 minutes or so. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo. That's it. Your hair, if not free should have way fewer frizzes.
To combat excessive dryness:
• Dab a little bit of mango butter or shea butter into your hair to infuse moisture. Or lightly spray a mix of water, oil and Aloe Vera juice on your hair. Alternatively you can also try Aloe Vera based moisturizers. Your parched strands will soak up all that hydration.
Now I know there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to solutions for hair problems that nag at you. So you may have to take some of these tips and try them on for size to see how they work with YOUR hair. Still sometimes it's not the hair styles for fine hair that matter most. It's more how your treat those thin locks and what you use to improve their appearance.
