Want a Salon Color At Home? Hair Coloring Tips Every Woman Should Know
Although Patricia had being coloring her hair regularly at the salon, she thought it was about time that she got around to doing it at home. So she was eager for some techniques or other little known beauty salon secrets on how to get the best haircoloring possible.
|
With that in mind she called up her best friend Denise and said,”Hey Denise, I know that you’ve been doing your coloring at home for a long time now. So could you answer some of my hair coloring questions and please share some of your hair coloring tips with me.”
Denise was more than happy to guide her along. She jumped right in saying, “you really need to decide about which color and hairstyles you want and then these are the tips and hints I want you to follow.”
Denise guided Patricia on how to apply hair color accurately and cleanly with the minimum of fuss. Here’s what she advised.
|
Test Drive the Color - Try the color you have chosen as a temporary color first. This way you can wash out a color you don’t like. If the color passes with flying colors (pun intended) then go ahead use a permanent dye.
Do a Skin Test - Before dying your hair place a small amount on your skin near your wrist. This way you can check if you are allergic to the product.
Lighter vs Darker - In her opinion, Denise felt dyeing your hair darker was a safter bet at home. “While colouring lighter was somewhat more risky,” Denise was quick to point out. “Done wrong you can really do seroius damage to your hair.”
Highlights Aren’t For the Novice - Highlights are best left to an experienced salon stylist who will do an professional job.
How to Avoid Hair Dye Ring - Wipe a thin layer of petroleum jelly around your hairline to prevent skin stains.
Tip: Should you get a little hair dye on you skin wipe it off immediately with a mixture of baking soda and water. You can also thicken the paste with cornstarch to prevent drips on clothes and skin.
Always Pamper Colored Hair - "That means use a good shampoo and conditioner specially designed for use with colored hair," advised Denise.
Yet not only did Denise provide first rate hair coloring tips and advice, but she made house calls too.
As Patricia applied the color, Denise watched and helped. Eventually after rinsing out, Patricia’s hair had turned a gorgeous brunette. She was so happy she kissed Denise and said,” No more costly salon appointments for me. I’ll do it right at home whenever I like.”
