How Do I Get Gray Hair?

Jackie Simmons, a 24 year old jewelry counter manager, really wanted to know what causes gray hair. Both her parents had heads filled with premature gray hairs at the age of 23 and she was worried about the same happening to her. Actually she had noticed the same was starting already. So she wanted to find out what were the causes of gray hair for herself.

Not wishing to talk to her mom, she decided to consult with her Aunt Francis who also had the same problem, yet didn’t seem to have a single gray hair showing.

When she dropped in to visit her aunt she was surprised to see a towel around her aunt’s head. Jackie also detected the faint scent of chemicals floating about in the air.

As they settled down for a good chat, Jackie said,”I know you are also gray haired, but how come you don’t show any gray at all?”

Francine, a bit flustered responded,”Dear, I learned how to color gray hair when I was about your age for just that reason. What do you think is going on underneath this towel?”

Still Francine was more than happy to clear Jackie doubts about gray hair. She went on, “Unfortunately gray hair is mostly due to genetics. And guess what? It seems to run in our family. So you might was well get ready for it.”

What Causes Gray Hair?
“Okay so you’re wondering “How do I get gay hair?, right?”

“Well you see as we get older our bodies start shutting down non essential functions. You know to reduce the workload?,” Aunt Francis asked with a smile. “The pigment melanin, which is responsible for coloring your hair, also shuts down. Well technically the root stops producing it. No pigment equals no color in your hair. See how that works?”

And this natural process is not be confused with what’s called premature graying. That can happen for a variety of reasons like stress, diet etc. But we don’t really know the cause so there’s nothing you can do to prevent that.

Although some researchers feel stress and lifestyle choices can hasten the graying process. Maybe accelearating the process by as much as five to 10 years? No specific tie in has yet been reported.

Also some cancer treatments may cause graying too.

How to Get Rid of Gray Hair?
“Very simply,” Francis pointed out, “you remove your gray hair by buying a good gray-coverage coloring product. The best ones can produce beautiful tinted effects in your locks. Most products give a detailed list of how-to instructions as to application and leave-in time. Simply rinse and shampoo off the excess dye and you’re rid of your grey hair.“

“Aside from that forget prevention. There is really nothing you can do.”

Francine excused herself so that she could rinse off her dye.

While as for Jackie, she was delighted with the detailed information her aunt provided about the causes of gray hair. Later that week. Jackie rushed off to the nearest salon to get her coloring done! Thnking if you can’t beat ‘em you might as well join ‘em.
