Expect to be quizzed about recent surgeries or illness. As well as a discussion about menstrual cycle irregularities.

Is there a history of hair loss in your family?

What types of medications are you taking?

Make a list of your hair care products and any chemicals you or your stylist use to treat your hair.

You'll be asked about the use of such things as teasing, hot rollers, curling irons and the like.

If at all possible bring a photo of yourself from a few years back. To give the doctor a point of reference.

Obviously there is no one cause of hairloss in woman. (And just like there are myths as to the true cause of hairloss in men there are some old wive's tales running around as to the cause for the ladies too.) Still the more info you can provide the better the diagnosis, subsequent treatments and outcome.
